Epistemology is inherent to research and putting it into scientific practice in some cases can be a challenge. Therefore, the dissemination of books, articles or readings by professional epistemologists must be considered a noble and laudable task, with pragmatism and facileness being evident in a large number of social scientific investigations. The objective here is to show in a simple and clear way the work of Dr. Lucas Lavado Mallqui, who addresses the importance and role of epistemology in research work, especially in the social sciences. The method used is unique: reading and re-reading the book Epistemology and Investigation, synthesizing, conceptualizing and assimilating its content. Among the most notable syntheses has been the importance of reading to conceptualize as part of an epistemological work; Likewise, the limits, taxonomy and interdisciplinarity of the fields of study; sociotechnology or social artifacts, as a factor of change in society; and the pending epistemological problems still unresolved by science.
