Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how Peruvian consumers perceive eco-friendly and biodegradable packaging on imported products. Currently, caring for the environment has become a priority issue, and many brands use sustainable packaging and eco-labels as part of their marketing strategies. The study was based on the S-O-R (Stimulus-Organism-Response) model, analyzing how green packaging elements, biodegradable materials, and eco-labels influence emotions, beliefs, and decisions when purchasing imported food products and their effects on the environment. The results show significant overall effects of the predictive model, based on the relationships between conative attitude and environmental concern (R2= .519). In addition, eco-friendly packaging and brands and eco-labels predict consumers' affective attitude (R2= .616) and cognitive attitude (R2= .582). Finally, affective and cognitive attitudes predict conative attitudes (R2= .664). In conclusion, the results provide insight into how brands can strengthen their sustainable image and better respond to consumer expectations in a market that is increasingly aware of environmental impact.
